2016-2017

Spatial Sound Institute

The Spatial Sound Institute (2016-2023) was a research and development centre for spatial sound technologies ased in Budapest, Hungary. Housed over four floors of the AQB arts complex on the banks of the Danube, the facility was centred around a large-scale, two-floor spatial sound studio used for artist residencies, educational workshops and regular public events. The programme had three main areas of focus: new forms of sound content and presentation, strategies to improve the quality of our acoustic environments, and researching our understanding of, and relationship with, listening.

In 2016-2017, I provided technological & creative support for various projects at Spatial Sound Institute, including installations & performances by Mark Fell, J.G. Biberkopf, Aloïs Yang, Murcof & Listen Ensemble. I also developed a bespoke software toolset for IOANN’s work “Imagining the Hyperspace”.
